Alabama Power: A Happy-ish Ending

This entry is part 3 of 3 in the series Alabama Power

If you haven’t been following the blog for very long, you may not be aware of the crazy ups and downs we experienced trying to get power at the Ant Farm. I’ve held off writing this post to be sure that the ordeal was really over. Since we’ve been in the house for a while now, and everything appears to be bumping along nicely, it’s finally time to say that in the end, Alabama Power did the right thing on our damaged road.

After a little back-and-forth, my case moved its way up the chain to the utility’s risk department (aka insurance), and they sent an adjustor over to assess the damage. I made it clear that I wanted my guy to do the repair work, and after submitting his quote to make everything right, the power company agreed that the cost was reasonable.

While the experience has not changed my opinion of Alabama Power in general, I have to say that once the issue was clear to them, they didn’t hesitate to do everything in their power to make it right. Now the rest of the project… that was a different story!
